This is a poem written for my ENG 212W class at Emory University with Marc Bousquet. The poem is an imitation of the poem "White Man" by Langston Hughes, and just as it speaks on the oppressions faced by Black people at the hands of the White Man, this poem focuses on the oppressions faced by Black people (and all people of color) at the hands of the Boys in Blue, or the Police. More specifically, it hones in on the police's tendency towards racial profiling, the Stop and Frisk policy, and my experience with it.
